Being an Ambassador

May 30, 2019

It can be stressful for a student to start in a new school and it can also make current students feel nervous. Our students tend to like routines and have difficulty with changes in routines, their environment or people. Although we work on flexibility and accepting changes or tweaks, this will likely remain challenging some of the time.

Recently we had a new student join our classroom and we wanted to make this student feel welcome while also pro-actively helping our current students navigate the change. Mr. Sam and Karlie worked hard to teach our students to be ambassadors of their classroom to our new student. They decorated the room with welcome signs and practiced showing her around. The new student had a wonderful first day and our students felt proud and able to show off how awesome their school is. Well done class!
